Carcara Lamp
The special luminaires we produce here at Atelier are laborious pieces involving different materials and different construction techniques.
The Carcará Lamp is formed by a spherical base made from reclaimed Conduru wood, from a farm in the interior of Goiás – GO, Brazil. The claws of oxidized iron were cut out of sheet metal pulled in a spherical shape, then embedded in hand-made recesses in the wooden sphere. The peanut wood dome turned inside and outside, also undergoes on several special operations. After drilling with a conical drill, it receives crystal pieces specially cut for this lamp. It is exactly through these crystals that magical light passes. The final finishing is organic, in shellac. Despite being so delicate, it receives the name of Carcará in reference to its metal claws, as from this bird from South America.
