The first design and woodworking jobs, still as a student in the early 70s, were carried out with woods found on remote beaches where I was going to surf.
From the beginning, it was a great pleasure being able to reuse such noble and raw materials, giving new life to design pieces.
Later I learned that this type of wood is internationally called “rediscovered wood”.
This has been the main material for the execution of our work, being it in furniture design, as also in architecture.
The use of this material confirms the concepts of the Atelier, initiated in the counterculture, hippie moment. With the same strength came yoga, natural food, living close to nature, environmental and social responsibilities.
We design from small utilitarian pieces, to unique and sophisticated ones for collectors, displayed in galleries in Brazil and abroad.
It is with great joy that we understand that clients, architects and friends have always aligned themselves with this concept of the “rediscovery”, and have made out iconic pieces of this line, today permanent collection in some museums, such as the Asturias Lounge Chair.
