La Lampe presents Lux Brasilis at the DW! 2016

The brand exposes icons of the last 50 years of design in lighting in the country, as a supporter of “Brazilian Design – Lamps”

The design is a mirror of its time. By innovating, we point to the future. By using references from the past, we keep alive the memory, knowledge and our history. With this concept, the book “Brazilian Design – Lamps”, published by Editora Olhares, brought the inspiration for the action of La Lampe at the 5th edition of the Design Weekend (DW!),taking place from 10th to 14th of August, in São Paulo.
The brand presents the exhibition “Lux Brasilis”, portraying Brazilian design through iconic luminaires of the past 50 years, giving a historical overview of the development of national creations and consecration of professionals who bring in their DNA the essence of Brazilian identity.
Of the 150 pieces related in the book, 70 luminaires will be exhibited at La Lampe showroom, including an historic one from Bernardo Figueiredo, fully restored by La Lampe, and pieces of important names and young talents as Sergio Rodrigues, Claudia Moreira Salles, Etel Carmona, Marcelo Rosenbaum, Fetiche, Nada Se Leva, Baba Vacaro, Alfio Lisi, Alisson Louback, Ana Neute, André Wagner, Andrea Cerretelli, Camila Fix, Carlos Motta, Cesar Burgos, Eduardo Sola, Flavia Pagotti, Fabiana Andrade, Hugo Sigaud, Mameluca Design, Marcelo Bicudo, Rafael Chvaicer, among others.
To compose this great timeline, the show will have the curatorship of the designers André Bastos and Guilherme Leite Ribeiro, from studio Nada Se Leva. In addition, La Lampe invited the talented artist and lightdesigner Guinter Parschalk to sign the installation of the facade and entrance to the showroom.
By light blades, the artist will create a design of “brasilis land” where historical pieces will be the protagonists. At the entrance hall, the highlight will be the Echilibra luminaire, awarded at the Museu da Casa Brasileira, signed by the designer Eduardo Sola. Inside the store, fabrics coated cubes, selected by Maison Fabrics especially for the exhibition, will carry the visitor to the inside of a museum, exhibiting the pieces as works of Art.
“It is an honor for La Lampe bringing together the best and most important artists and designers in this, which is the main Brazil’s industry event,” says Alessandra Friedmann, CEO of the brand.
